Ginge in Madrid
Athletico Madrid v Sevilla
While TH14 was happily doing the business back home. We took went along to the Athletico game. It was a very cold and very windy night. With the added tension of a sweep stake based on the final score we settled down to a game that saw more players booked in one game than I think I have ever witnessed. And not really one bad tackle in sight. Loads of diving, showing that the problem we have in The Premiership is minimal to say the least, and even smaller now Ginola doesn't bother us. With the away fans right behind us, Dad decided to join in the taunting standing to give them the finger after each Athletico goal. In a nail biting finish, three of us (myself, John and Dave P) were still up to take the pot in the sweep stake. But in a weekend of shock results, Dave P took the money. You could feel the tension in the air all around the stadium as news spread that Dave was about to take the 50. But clearly the news never reached the players and that all important third goal never came. So we all left the stadium with a bitter taste.
